Turkey maintains a rich culture that through the centuries has made a lasting impression on modern civilization. It is a country that represents a cultural mixture, a synthesis of east and west, while it geographically bridges Europe and Asia. For this reason it has been a stronghold and key point for many empires throughout time. The heir to many centuries of cultures makes Turkey an incredible source to vast amounts of interesting sites and information. A country that combines natural beauty, with its 10,000 year old heritage. Through decades of change and growth, Turkey boasts success, living by its adopted motto of "Peace at Home, Peace in the World". With this thought we are happy that the 2006 Solar Eclipse will pass over the Turkish skies, and that we chose to host the festival here. So the gathering tribe can experience and explore a country that is built on old and rich history, and at the same time is a member of the modern world. The Turkish people are kind, friendly and have an outstanding reputation for hospitality, and on top of it all, their cuisine is to die for.
