Jim Carrey Criticizes U.S. Government For Allowing Big Pharma To Influence Policy

Jim Carrey has been getting much attention from the media recently, and it is not because of his comedy skills!

Carrey criticized the U.S. government for letting large corporations influence the government and laws. Lately, he exposed Big Pharma’s monetary advantage over policy and legislation.

His battles started in July 2015, when he went on Twitter to call out Governor Jerry Brown of California for making “corporate fascist” decisions because Brown passed legislation to make vaccines mandatory. Carrey thinks the government should not force vaccines down its citizens. He knows that vaccines have health risks and the risks have not been thoroughly evaluated and reported. Carrey’s tweet back then said, “California Gov says yes to poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum in mandatory vaccines. This corporate fascist must be stopped.”

Carrey started being more involved in this matter since his relationship with anti-vaccine activist Jenny McCarthy, who accuses vaccines of causing her son’s autism. Carrey and McCarthy’s relationship ended six years ago. However, Carrey kept his beliefs in regards to vaccines. He is pro-vaccine, different from McCarthy, but he says his position is anti-neurotoxins.

His views on the issue are sound because it has been reported that thousands of people have been harmed by vaccines and their side effects. Carrey stated that “There is no question that many of these vaccines have been among the greatest medical advancements in history. There is also no question that vaccines can and do injure people as the hundreds of millions of dollars awarded in vaccine court have proved.”

The court mentioned in the above statement relates to the Office of Special Masters of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. This court was created to evaluate cases about people who were harmed by vaccines.

The Associated Press, in 2014, released their conclusions on the court’s verdicts in the past and conducted over 100 interviews to get to the bottom of the court’s process. It is interesting to note that the last update on cases was published in January 2013 and that the court declined to release any new updates.

The court used taxpayer money to pay private attorneys to represent the interests of the claimants. These lawyers received payment whether they won the case or not. Because of that, lawyers did not put as much effort or research into their cases as they should. They are given a monetary incentive for over-filing cases despite the quality of the claim.

The Associated Press found further corruption with these private prosecution attorneys. Many of the expert witnesses they used to articulate for the citizens and against vaccines have work that has been widely questioned. The “experts” have plagiarized work and even set up their own nonprofits to question vaccine safety. However, on the other side, you have the government’s defense expert witnesses, which are doctors with links to pharmaceutical companies, who benefit immediately from the continued use of vaccines.

Carrey mentioned the Center for Disease Control and whistleblower Dr. William Thompson from the CDC who rolled over 100,000 documents containing the proof that the CDC falsified documents that underreported the number of African-American children that were negatively affected by vaccines.

Congressman Bill Posey’s office verified that these documents had been turned over and that they were processing them affirming that “Dr. William Thompson…has admitted that the CDC suppressed information about the links between the MMR vaccine and autism in some cases.”

Furthermore, Carrey criticized the government for making general health decisions for its citizens, particularly considering how much of an impact Big Pharma’s monetary contributions have on the government’s judgments. As Carrey says, “Over the past 20 or so years, pharmaceutical companies have given nearly $300 million to candidates for federal office, spent almost $200 million influencing California state elections, and have amassed over $3 billion in fees for high-powered lobbyists in Washington.” These “donations” are used as an advantage when politicians win and vote for or against bills that will affect pharmaceutical corporations. These contributions influence legislative decisions as the decisions are based on money and not scientific proof that these drugs or companies are in the best interest of citizens.

The actor stated that it is unacceptable for the government to enforce a set health regimen for every child when there are other laws in support of allowing citizens to make their own health decisions about their body. He says that it “is particularly troubling when questions remain concerning the safety of certain chemicals used to produce some vaccines.” He is referring to the thimerasol or mercury used in the vaccines which are then shot into children. Carrey wants the Big pharmaceutical corporations to produce vaccines that are free of toxins, reaffirming his statement that he is pro-vaccine but anti-neurotoxins.

Jim Carrey says that he has not lost his sense of humor, but that “there’s a time to laugh and a time for a serious debate over what it could mean to have our civil liberties taken away by our government at the behest of pharmaceutical companies and their shareholders.”

There are many discussions regarding the CDC’s claims that there is no connection between vaccines and autism and the problems of measles outbreaks since many began living a vaccine-free life. However, it appears as though Carrey is well-researched and concerned about the government’s agenda and the health of the population. Regardless of your stand on the issue, what Carrey is asking people to do is to question the science and the government rather than blindly accepting what they told us.
