These Clinical Studies Plan To Prove Coconut Oil’s Ability To Reverse Alzheimer’s Disease!
Dr. Mary Newport had a problem. She tried all the traditional medical procedures to save her husband from going to a special home for Alzheimer’s patients. But none of them worked. And then she discovered coconut oil!
Her husband’s remarkable story went viral. And Dr. Newport moved on to write the best-selling called Alzheimer’s Disease: What if There Was a Cure?
After her book and video, many people tried Dr. Newport’s advice. The result? Thousands of testimonials to prove the power of coconut oil when it comes to helping those who have Alzheimer.
Mainstream medicine and even the Alzheimer’s Association won’t recommend or suggest the use of coconut oil because few studies have been conducted to prove its benefits.
But now, an equal evaluated study has been published, and another one is in progress, both revealing the remarkable results using coconut oil can provide for Alzheimer’s patients.
The study was published in 2015, and it’s called COCONUT OIL: NON-ALTERNATIVE DRUG TREATMENT AGAINST ALZHEIMER´S DISEASE. It was published by Nutricion Hospitalaria.
The study was conducted in Spain, and it consisted of Alzheimer’s patients ranging from different gender, ages, with or without diabetes, and the goal was to discover if the consumption of coconut oil linked to a reduction of Alzheimer’s mental dysfunction.
The study applied cognitive testing before and after the trial so that they could determine any change in the patients. Experts recommend three tablespoons of coconut oil daily to help treat dementia, depending on the severity of the diseases and if the person is coconut intolerant. However, the study gave 40ml of coconut oil daily to the patients, equivalent of 2.7 tablespoons.
The researchers found “a statistically significant increase in test score … and therefore an improvement in cognitive status, improving especially women’s, those without diabetes mellitus type II, and severe patients.”
Furthermore, it was found that “this study, although preliminary, demonstrated the positive influence of coconut oil at the cognitive level of patients with Alzheimer’s, this improvement being dependent on sex, presence or absence of diabetes and degree of dementia.” (Source)
A private funded new study is underway in Florida with the goal of discovering the effects of coconut oil for Alzheimer’s. This study started in 2013 at the University of South Florida’s Health Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute. And so far the findings have proven successful.
Coconut Oil And Saturated Fats
The saturated fat found in coconut oil is not hydrogenated or adulterated, and it is healthy for the brain. It doesn’t cause heart disease or obesity if consumed in the right way.
The Ancel Keys Seven Countries Study conducted in the 1050s formed the notion that coconut oil was bad for you. However, the study was heavily influenced by processed cooking oil, margarine manufacturers, medical establishments and the media. It gave companies what they needed to sell their unhealthy processed hydrogenated oils packed with trans-fats.
Alzheimer’s Medication Fail
To this day, most Alzheimer’s drugs have been largely unsuccessful in helping patients reclaim their health and well-being. What’s more, these drugs produce terrible side effects on people who use them, and Big Pharma treats Alzheimer’s as an “untreatable” illness so they can supply maintenance drugs to continue generating profits from vulnerable people.
Coconut Oil for Alzheimer’s Prevention and Reversal
Dr. Stephanie Steneff explains that the brain contains 25% of the total cholesterol of the body. Cholesterol is used in the brain as an antioxidant, as a structural scaffold for the neural network, an electrical insulator, and as a functional component of all membranes. It also plays a significant role in the formation and functioning of synapses in the brain.
Coconut oil is different from other saturated fat oils because it contains medium chain triglycerides or MCTs. Distinct from the more common long chain triglycerides (LCTs), MCTs are quickly digested by the liver and then converted into energy in the form of ketones.
Long chain triglycerides (LCTs) don’t get converted into ketones easily by the liver and end up being stored as fat in the body. If the brain cells have difficulty using insulin for glucose, they will end up starving and dying. When this happens, a big part of the brain becomes ineffective because of the lack of energy caused by decreased glucose utilization.
That’s why Alzheimer’s or any similar dementia is considered diabetes 3. The cure for diabetes 3 could be found coconut oil because it helps the body to produce ketones derived from the liver. The ketones are responsible for nourishing the brain cells giving them what they need despite insulin resistance that hampers cellular glucose metabolism. Ketones further improve blood circulation in the brain, a nice byproduct. So keep eating organic virgin coconut oil at the recommended quantity of three or a bit more tablespoons every day to keep energy levels of the cells in check.
